Testimonials

What people are saying about Hands-On Tech...

“Hands-On Tech was able to solve an issue that no one else could identify.  I contacted Hands-On Tech simply by sending an email to the developer of a PowerSchool Plugin that I had installed.  Mrs. Shulman called me directly on my cell phone and offered great insight.  I was not aware when I had emailed the developer who I was reaching out to.  Mrs. Shulman took time from her day to call and discuss the issue I was experiencing.  She asked if she could do some further research and consult with her team.  Within an hour I had an email reply with exact directions for some troubleshooting.  After walking through the steps provided I was able to resolve the issue.  Hands-On Tech went above and beyond to help.  In the future, I will always reach out to Hands-On Tech for consulting needs."  TW

"Sharon and her team are always available when we need them and have been able to keep our SIS functioning very well. " MC

"We love working with you and having you in our 'back-pocket!'" SC

When our PowerSchool Administrator took another job, we were left with a highly-customized PowerSchool on-prem setup and a growing number of tickets that we weren’t sure how to resolve.  As we searched for a permanent replacement, we found Sharon of Hands-On Tech, who jumped willingly into the fray and took on every challenge we threw at her.  She knows PowerSchool through and through, and made short work of our complex issues, seamlessly working with us and our users to keep PowerSchool humming along and keeping us involved and up-to-date on everything.  When we finally found a new PowerSchool Administrator, he wasn’t able to start for over a month, so Sharon continued to keep us moving along until he was able to take over.

I highly recommend Sharon and Hands-On Tech for deep and broad knowledge of PowerSchool, outstanding customer service, excellent communications, almost instant response time, pleasant but no-nonsense working style, and just all-around wonderful to partner with.  Look no further if you need anything PowerSchool-related.

SEVEN WAYS A CONSULTANT CAN HELP YOU

Expertise

Knowledge, Experience and Best Practices

1. To obtain specific expertise. Consultants who work with varied school districts can bring Best Practices to your personnel and share experiences that help to facilitate better use of the student information system.

Troubleshooting from a new perspective

Get a different point of view on issues

2. To identify problems. Sometimes employees are too close to a problem or are unfamiliar with the best way to tackle an issue that comes up. That's when a consultant can be the extra set of eyes to find and resolve the issue in the best possible way.

Money saving advantages

Consultants save districts money

3. To supplement a district's internal staff. School districts often find that they can save thousands of dollars by hiring consultants when needed rather than hiring full-time employees. They also can save additional money because consultants don't need benefits.

Implement and Facilitate Change

Planning for change and organizing the best way to implement that change

4. To act as a catalyst for change. No one likes change but when change is needed, a consultant can help facilitate that change with minimal dissension.

Objectivity

Consultants bring expertise and new visions

5. To be an objective onlooker. A good consultant provides a fresh, objective viewpoint, and then delivers results.

Training opportunities

Consultants help staff be more effective and use time more efficiently

6. To teach. Sharing expertise that will help school district staff to be more efficient and effective when using the students information system will allow districts to enjoy an increase in the productivity of all staff.

New Ideas

Fresh New Ideas and New Direction for Implementing Change

7. To bring new ideas. Whether you are changing the way you are scheduling your students, creating a new design for a report card or merely trying to help all your staff become better end users, a consultant can provide new concepts for achieving your goals.
